The Mitsubishi Outlander is a full-sized, three-row SUV that is designed to handle whatever activity you throw at it. Whether you are heading indoors or outdoors, with friends or family, in the evening or on the weekend, the Outlander offers the cargo space, luxury, and power you need to get you where you need to go.

The Outlander is designed to help you get to the next adventure. Its three-row layout and 33.5 cubic feet of storage space, which expands to 64.7 cubic feet with the back row folded flat, is able to accommodate a huge amount of luggage and gear.

What’s New for 2023?

There are two main changes for the 2023 model year of the Outlander. The first is the creation of an additional plug-in hybrid powertrain that combines a 2.4L four-cylinder engine with dual electric motors and comes in AWD.

The other notable upgrade is the inclusion of an exclusive new 40th Anniversary Edition trim level for the Outlander, available for both gas and plug-in hybrid models. This adds additional styling to the top SEL Premium trim level, including unique interior styling, leather upholstery, custom exterior badging, and a trim-specific bronze roof.

Key Features of the 2023 Outlander

Powertrains and Efficiency

Gas-powered variants of the Outlander use a 2.5L four-cylinder engine that delivers 181 horsepower that comes in both AWD and FWD. Both variants are rated at an impressive 24 mpg in the city, while the FWD variant achieves 31 mpg on the highway compared to the AWD powertrain’s 30 mpg rating.

The already-mentioned AWD plug-in hybrid offers even great power and efficiency, clocking in at 248 horsepower and an average combined fuel efficiency rating of 64 MPGe, as well as the capacity to travel up to 38 miles on electric power only.

Interior and Convenience

The 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system can be upgraded to a slightly large 9-inch screen with integrated navigation, and both systems come standard with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto integration. Upgrades include a wireless charging pad for your smartphone and a premium 10-speaker sound system by Bose.

Safety and Warranty

The Outlander comes with a variety of essential safety features, including forward collision warning, pedestrian detection, rear parking sensors, rear automatic braking, and blind spot monitoring.

Mitsubishi’s warranty coverage is also strong, with standard limited warranties covering your vehicle for five years or 60,000 miles, whichever you hit first. Both powertrains are covered under a separate 10-year, 100,000-mile warranty to give you peace of mind.
