The Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross takes home a GOOD DESIGN Award

Mitsubishi shook up their lineup and the auto industry when they introduced a new vehicle during the 2018 model year: the Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross.

When they brought this model to the market, they revived the old Eclipse nameplate, but instead of bringing back the sporty coupe they tacked on the "Cross" title and built a crossover. This came as no surprise, as crossovers are getting so much attention for their fuel ratings, style, and size that's easier to maneuver in cities but still provides cargo space.

We at Tim Short Mitsubishi weren't the only ones jazzed by this new model. The folks over at the Chicago Athenaeum Museum of Architecture and Design were as well, and they gave the Eclipse Cross a GOOD DESIGN award for innovation and style!

(Another vehicle that also got a nod from GOOD DESIGN was the GT-PHEV crossover concept that's super futuristic and bold. Hopefully we see something similar in production form.)

But back to the Eclipse Cross! If you haven't spotted on in person yet, you need to check out our selection. It's the most popular model we have in our inventory, and you'll quickly see why.

The Eclipse Cross has an attractive and stand-out exterior that doesn't skimp on the deep character lines, sharp angles out back, and stylish wheel designs. For 2019 they'll even be a Limited Edition model with exclusive blacked-out alloy wheels and midnight black accents that provide a menacing edge and appeal.

Interior highlights you'll enjoy include the following:

  • 7-inch touchscreen
  • Available Apple CarPlay™ and Android Auto™
  • Rearview camera
  • Available advanced safety technologies: blind spot warning, lane change assist, and rear cross traffic alert
  • Available heads-up display
  • Sport Mode
